Lead Veterinarian to manage Veterinary Services

Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley is seeking a Veterinarian to manage our Veterinary Services. Our emphasis is on HVHQ spay & neuter and general wellness for companion animals seen in our clinic. We are not a shelter. Our team currently has 1 veterinarian, 4 RVT’s and 7 veterinary assistants. Excellent communication, organization and technical skills are required.

The veterinary manager will have responsibility for animals in the clinic assuring that their care and treatment are of the highest quality and consistent with the policies of the Humane Society of San Bernardino, and with the highest standards of current veterinary practice. The veterinary manager will be responsible for the following:

1.HQHV Sterilization surgery
2. Direct oversight of the Society’s medical staff
3. Hiring and scheduling staff & relief veterinarians
4. Examination, treatment, or referral of animals brought to the clinic in accordance with HSSBV policy
5. Provide oversight to ordering, inventory and budgeting medical and surgical supplies
6. Ensure compliance with veterinary medical standards, practices, and procedures
7. Provide support to management personnel to ensure an effective work environment
8. Provide medical oversight and support for animal cruelty investigations
9. Work with Executive Director to create budgets for veterinary clinic
10. Must possess a valid DVM and DEA license (reimbursed by the HSSBV)
