General Function:

The Reception Customer Service Representative drives the flow of clients and pets into the clinic, coordinates the care of clients and pets, maximizes productivity of the veterinary medical staff, ensures good communication with staff members and clients in a welcoming, friendly, and professional manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service at all times. This includes answering phones in a timely manner, welcoming clients and pets, and ensuring they are comfortable in the clinic.
  • Assist clients on the phone and in person, by completing the required documentation, entering all pet information and history into the computer and ensuring prompt service.
  • Educate clients about preventive care, pet health needs, and hospital services including spay and neuter services.
  • Coordinate clients seeking financial assistance with appropriate agencies and grant programs. Ensure grant monies and vouchers are appropriately administered, documented, and recorded.
  • Assist outgoing clients by providing all necessary instructions, information, and scheduling future appointments.
  • Conduct administrative functions as necessary, including cross training in reception and any other department as needed.


  • High school graduate or equivalent training
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to operate a vehicle under all types of weather road conditions
  • Must be willing to participate in Euthanasia certification training
  • Must be willing to work Saturdays
  • Must be willing to help out in any department where training is provided
  • Spanish-speaking bilingual applicants encouraged to apply
