Current Volunteer Opportunities at the Humane Society

Greeters
Outgoing persons needed to meet and greet clients as they enter our clinic. They will direct clients to sign in and interact with clients as they wait for their appointment to be seen by staff. Must have passion for animals and be outgoing and personable.

Receptionist Assistant Volunteer
Needed to assist receptionist staff in busy office. Must be able to learn computer program and be able to learn procedures to check in and check out clients. Volunteer must be friendly and outgoing and have a passion for animals.

Humane Officer/Investigator Volunteer
This position is multifaceted. Volunteer to assist our Humane Officer/Investigator with animal abuse cases. Volunteer will be asked to make phone calls and do office tasks. He or she must have a passion for animals. Volunteer must be able to follow directions. This person may be asked to ride along to assist our Humane Officer in stressful situations.

Saturday Shot Clinic
Volunteers are always needed to assist staff on Saturdays. Volunteers must be able to work in loud, busy office, and be able to follow directions. Tasks include answering phone and scheduling appointments for spay and neutering, greeters, animal attendants to clean out kennels and cages, walk dogs, and play with cats. Fill out forms and answer questions related to basic health care of dogs and cats. Other tasks as assigned by Saturday Shot Clinic Supervisor.

All volunteers must attend Volunteer Orientation, which is held on the first & third Saturday of the month after Saturday Shot Clinic at 2.00 PM. This orientation will give a brief overview of the many volunteer opportunities available at the Humane Society and information about the Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley. To attend this orientation you must have your application on file by the Friday previous to the date of the orientation.

All volunteers must be 18 or older.
